MOES ZHT-SR-GB from the Star Ring series is a smart thermostat for electric heating that combines precise temperature control, modern design and convenient remote control. The device switches loads of up to 16 A (approx. 3.6 kW at 230 V), so it directly handles electric underfloor heating, heating mats and cables as well as other electric heaters without an additional contactor.

Thanks to the Zigbee 3.0 protocol, the thermostat fits into your smart home. Control it from your phone via the MOES, Tuya Smart and Smart Life apps, by voice via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, or the classic way on the wall with the rotary knob and touch buttons. The package also includes an external temperature sensor cable for measuring the floor temperature.

Precise control of floor and room temperature

This underfloor heating thermostat uses an NTC3950 (10K) sensor with an accuracy of ±1 °C. You can set the target temperature from 5 to 35 °C, and the display shows values from 5 to 99 °C. The external sensor included with the GB version is installed in the floor (ideally in a protective conduit between the heating wires), so the controller responds to the actual floor temperature, not just the air near the wall. Timer accuracy better than 1 % ensures your schedule starts exactly when it should.

The device's own consumption is below 1.5 W, so the Zigbee heating controller itself will hardly show on your electricity bill. Power-failure memory keeps your settings and resumes where it left off once power returns.

Control from the app, by voice or on the wall

Once paired with a Zigbee gateway, you can see the current temperature in the Tuya Smart, Smart Life or MOES app and change it from anywhere, for example on your way home from work or from your cottage. In the app you can create automations and scenes (for example lowering the temperature when everyone leaves the house), and device sharing gives other household members access too.

If you don't want to reach for your phone, just say “Alexa, set the bathroom to 24 degrees” or use Google Assistant. And the rotary knob with capacitive touch buttons is always available on the wall. The backlit ring changes colour according to the operating mode, so you can see at a glance whether the heating is on. The display supports 9 languages.

A weekly schedule that saves electricity

Electric underfloor heating is comfortable, but without sensible control it can push your electricity bill up considerably. The programmable thermostat from MOES offers a 5+1+1 mode directly on the device (weekdays, Saturday, Sunday) with 6 time periods per day. According to the manufacturer, the app lets you set up to 48 temperature changes per day. Your bathroom can be warm in the morning and evening, while during the day, when nobody is home, the heating only keeps a setback temperature.

Child lock and safe design

The child lock function locks the wall controls, so children or visitors can't change the temperature by accident. The housing is made of flame-retardant PC + ABS, and the IP20 rating is suitable for normal use in living spaces.

Easy installation in a standard wall box

The thermostat fits a standard European round wall box with a diameter of 60 mm or a square 86 × 86 mm box, so replacing an old controller usually needs no work on the wall. It is powered directly from the 230 V mains (range 95 to 245 V AC), so there are no batteries to change. Connection to the electrical installation should be done by a qualified electrician.

The model is also listed as ZHTSRGB or by its full code ZHT-SR-GB-WH-MS (white). This is the GB version for electric heating: there are also GA versions for water underfloor heating and GC versions for gas and electric boilers, which are rated for only 5 A and are not suitable for electric heating mats.

Protocols and compatibility
