How to choose the right Sonoff switch?
- Protocol: Wi-Fi for quick setup without a hub, Zigbee for larger installations and stability, or Matter for maximum interoperability.
- Number of circuits: Models with 1, 2, or 3 buttons depending on your lighting branches.
- Neutral wire (N): Most touch switches require it. If you don't have one in the box, opt for modules like the ZBMINI-L that work without a neutral.
- Wide integration: Supports the eWeLink app, and Zigbee models integrate seamlessly with local systems like Home Assistant or Zigbee2MQTT.
FAQ & Installation
- Can I still control the lights manually? Yes, all smart switches retain the option of classic manual control.
- Does dimming work? Only on specific dimming models. For LED dimming, choose a dedicated dimmer (e.g., Sonoff D1).
- How does installation work? Always turn off the breaker before installation. Wire L, N, L1-L3 according to the diagram. Pairing in the app then takes just a few minutes.
Tip: For larger installations, we recommend combining switches with ZBMINI Extreme modules and a central Zigbee gateway. This gives you an exceptionally stable network and the ability to run local automations.
