The MCO Home IR2900 IR Thermostat is a great way to control your air conditioning within FIBARO, SmartThings, and other Z-Wave systems. This thermostat communicates with the smart home controller using the latest Z-Wave 800 protocol. Then, when you issue a command, it sends it directly to your AC unit via IR commands, exactly like a standard remote control.

Setting up this thermostat is very simple. Just install the IR Thermostat app (available on Google Play Store and Apple Store), where you can configure the thermostat for your AC unit in a few easy steps. Simply select your AC brand from the database, test the commands, and save.

Once the thermostat is added to your Z-Wave system, you can use it to control your AC not only via your mobile phone but also through automated smart home scenes. MCO offers a broad database of brands, making the learning process truly straightforward.

All the Data at Hand

The clear display provides you with all the information you need. Mode, set temperature, fan speed, and a timer—all can be set directly via the thermostat, and you can easily read this data from the screen. Moreover, thanks to the option of being powered by 5V DC USB or a built-in rechargeable battery, you can place this device exactly where you need it. The device also measures the ambient temperature and humidity.

Control both AC and Heating

In addition to controlling air conditioners via IR, this thermostat can also send Z-Wave commands to relay modules for heating control. This makes it ideal for homes where you need to manage the AC in summer and the heating in winter. You won't need to mount two separate devices side by side; this single thermostat does the job.

Simply set up the relay for the AC using the IR Thermostat app, and create an association to a relay that controls either your boiler or a floor heating zone valve. Then, you can choose the heating or cooling mode directly on the thermostat. Depending on the mode, the thermostat will either control the AC or trigger the heating relay.
