Welcome to the next generation of smart sensors. The Aqara Door and Window Sensor P2 not only perfectly guards your entryways, cabinets, and safes, but thanks to its native support for the groundbreaking Matter standard and Thread protocol, it completely eliminates smart home ecosystem boundaries.

Revolutionary Thread and Matter Support

While legacy sensors required proprietary, brand-specific hubs to function, the P2 communicates directly over the ultra-fast, mesh-networking Thread protocol. This means the sensor can natively integrate into all major ecosystems—including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings—without needing any complex bridges. All you need is any compatible third-party Thread Border Router (such as an Apple HomePod Mini, Apple TV 4K, Google Nest Hub, or the Aqara Hub M3).

P2 Hardware Innovations and Massive Battery

Aside from sending instant security push notifications and triggering smart automations (like turning off the AC when a window is opened), the P2 brings several incredible hardware upgrades:

  • Massive CR123A Battery: Unlike sensors that use tiny coin cells, the P2 is powered by a high-capacity lithium battery (up to 1400 mAh). This provides rock-solid performance and drastically extends the time between battery replacements.
  • Adjustable Sensitivity & Smart Button: The gap distance required to trigger the magnetic switch can be adjusted within the app (ranging from 1 to 3 cm). Furthermore, the sensor body features a physical, programmable button that you can use to trigger custom smart home scenes.
  • Invisible Installation: The magnetic counterpart is designed to be extremely minimalist. If you have a wooden door frame, you can simply drill a tiny hole and insert the magnet directly inside the wood, making it visually invisible to the naked eye.
