Product detailed description
⚡ Smart DIN Rail Relay with Power Monitoring and Matter Support
Sonoff Basic DIN Rail (BASIC-1GSP) is a smart relay designed for direct installation into an electrical breaker panel. It can switch high-power circuits up to 32 A and 7680 W while providing real-time power consumption data. Thanks to Matter over Wi-Fi support, you can easily integrate it into Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings.

At its core is the new "UniBusbar" relay technology, which handles higher currents with reduced heat generation compared to conventional relays, extending the overall lifespan of the module. The enclosure features the highest UL94 V-0 flame-retardant rating, fulfilling strict safety requirements for electrical distribution boards.

A key feature is double-pole switching – the DIN relay disconnects both Live and Neutral wires simultaneously, guaranteeing full physical circuit isolation during maintenance or faults. Compared to standard single-pole relays that only disconnect the Live wire and leave Neutral energized, this offers a significantly safer solution for high-power applications.

Power monitoring tracks voltage, current, power output, and total energy consumed. Through the eWeLink app, you can view daily, monthly, and bi-annual statistics, calculate electricity costs based on your custom rates, and export up to 180 days of historical data. Additionally, you can set custom current, voltage, and power limits – if exceeded, the Wi-Fi DIN relay automatically disconnects the load to protect the connected equipment and circuit from overload.
This smart switching device can operate fully locally via LAN, independent of internet access or cloud servers, making it ideal for systems configured for controlling 230V devices within a local network. In case of internet outages, the device remains controllable via Bluetooth if your smartphone has cellular data enabled.
How to Wire the Basic DIN Rail
The module mounts onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail and is wired between the meter, breakers/fuses, and target circuits – exactly as shown in the diagram below, which illustrates its typical placement relative to the main breaker (air switch).

Who is Basic DIN Rail Designed For?
- For electricians and installers managing centralized circuit control directly inside the distribution box.
- For households with high-load appliances – EV chargers, water heaters, heat pumps, or underfloor heating.
- For advanced Home Assistant users seeking local control without cloud dependencies.
- For property managers who need to track and bill electricity consumption for individual circuits (workshops, rented spaces).
- For multi-ecosystem smart homes requiring a universal solution via Matter.
Use Cases
- EV Charging Station Control & Monitoring – safe high-current switching paired with clear energy usage data.
- Electric Underfloor Heating or Boiler Management – automatic shut-off when preset power limits are exceeded.
- Sub-circuit Energy Monitoring – detailed electricity cost tracking without installing extra sub-meters.
- Remote Control of Heavy Loads directly inside the panel where standard smart plugs won't fit.
- Overload Protection Automation – the relay automatically disconnects the load if power safety thresholds are breached.

Matter Ecosystem Compatibility
Thanks to Matter certification, the Basic DIN Rail integrates seamlessly into Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Home Assistant without requiring a dedicated Sonoff hub. All you need is a compatible Matter hub for your preferred ecosystem.

Matter support also enables voice control – simply ask Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa to switch a specific circuit on or off, or create automated scenes based on time or custom conditions.
