The device also features a built-in light intensity sensor, making it ideal for creating and triggering automation scenarios directly based on the room's lighting conditions.

The sensor utilizes energy-efficient Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Zigbee communication (which can operate simultaneously), ensuring an exceptionally long battery life. The device can be easily integrated into Wi-Fi smart home systems via Shelly BLU devices or other Shelly devices with a BLE gateway function. The Zigbee protocol also allows seamless connection with systems like Home Assistant.

To fully utilize the sensor in your smart home, it requires a network connection through one of these options:

🔵 For the Shelly ecosystem (via Bluetooth): The device needs a compatible gateway. You can use a standalone Shelly BLU USB Gateway, or assign the gateway function to another connected smart device from the Shelly Plus, Pro, Gen3, or Gen4 family.

🟠 For third-party systems (via Zigbee): Simply pair the sensor with your existing Zigbee hub (controller) and instantly integrate it into your favorite smart automations.

The device offers two operating modes that adjust the data transmission logic exactly to your needs:

🔔 Normal mode: Every time it opens or closes, the sensor sends information about the current status, ambient light level, and battery capacity. For tilt windows, it sends an event notification immediately upon opening and adds tilt angle data a few seconds later. It then periodically checks for angle changes and updates the data if necessary, ensuring accurate tracking of the window's state.

📶 Beacon mode: In this mode, the sensor sends data not only during the event itself (opening/closing) but also at regular 30-second intervals. It continuously reports the door/window status, lighting conditions, and battery level to the cloud, allowing for continuous and detailed monitoring. You can activate this mode at any time in the Shelly app.
