The Nous E9 detector operates on the stable Zigbee 3.0 protocol (Please note: To connect to your Wi-Fi and mobile app, a central Zigbee Gateway, such as the Nous E1, is strictly required).
It fully supports the NOUS Smart and Tuya Smart Life apps, unlocking the door to life-saving automations. For instance, you can create a rule stating: If the Nous E9 detects a gas leak, immediately send a command to a smart motorized valve actuator (like the Nous LZ3) to automatically and physically shut off the main gas supply line.

Where and How to Install the Detector

The device is mains-powered (AC 100V-240V), meaning you never have to worry about replacing batteries. It features an elegant, minimalist square design (86x86 mm) that blends seamlessly into any room. It is perfect for kitchens with gas stoves, boiler rooms, and RVs. Proper mounting height depends entirely on the type of gas you are using:

• For gases lighter than air (e.g., natural gas / methane), which rise, mount the detector high on the wall (approx. 30 cm below the ceiling).
• For gases heavier than air (e.g., propane-butane / LPG / bottled gas), which sink, mount the detector low on the wall (approx. 30 cm above the floor).
