The new and improved generation of HeatIT's rotary Z-Wave switch brings reliable and smooth lighting control to your Smart Home, retaining the traditional feel of a rotary dial.
Installation Without a Neutral Wire
The HeatIT Z-DIM 2 is a powerful dimmer (5 to 250W) that does not require a neutral wire to operate. This makes it perfect for older electrical installations where only live/phase cables are routed to the wall switch. Installation is simple: swap out your old mechanical switch, wire it up, and pair it with your Z-Wave smart hub (like FIBARO or Homey).
Dimming and Power Metering
To ensure excellent compatibility with modern LED bulbs, the dimmer includes a clever hardware feature: directly beneath the plastic cover sits a small trim potentiometer used to manually set the minimum brightness level. This prevents LED bulbs from flickering when the voltage drops too low. Additionally, the Z-Dim 2 has integrated active energy consumption metering.
External Button Support & Scene Activation
This dimmer allows you to connect a standard 'dumb' momentary push-button from the other end of a hallway (2-way/multi-way switching). Impressively, you can even dim the lights by pressing and holding this external 'dumb' button—a very rare feature for smart wall dimmers.
You can also use the rotary dial itself to activate scenes in your smart home. A double-click could turn the lights instantly to 100%, while a triple-click might trigger a customized 'Morning' scene on your main hub.
System 55 Design
The dimmer comes with two frames in the box to match your decor—one with sharp edges and one with rounded edges. It is fully compatible with the Gira System 55 standard, making it a breeze to seamlessly integrate it into your existing multi-gang frames. If desired, you can purchase a black cover and knob separately.
