How Does it Work? Extremely Simple Installation

Forget about complex, dangerous electrical wiring. The frient device consists of a main communication module and an optical probe. You simply stick the probe directly over the flashing LED indicator on your existing digital utility meter. The probe optically reads the flashes and translates them into precise real-time wattage consumption data.

You do not need professional help from an electrician for installation—you can do it yourself in minutes. The device instantly starts communicating wirelessly with your smart hub (e.g., Homey, SmartThings) via the Zigbee protocol.

Optimize and Help the Grid
