Locking mechanism:

The lock works in such a way that when in the locked state, the handle is seemingly disconnected from the latch, and pressing the handle does nothing. After entering the correct code, fingerprint, or presenting a card, the handle connects to the latch, and the handle functions normally for a selected time, just like on a standard door. It then disconnects again.

The lower latch is locked by pulling the handle upwards at the moment you scan your fingerprint or enter the code. This extends the lower latch, and the door is locked just like a traditional one. Unlocking is then combined with the upper latch, meaning when you enter the code and press the handle down.

The physical key for the lock is also special. The entire key unlocking process is designed so that after inserting the key, you just turn it slightly, which activates the handle. This works even if the battery is dead.

A low battery is reported by the lock via a voice prompt. This notification starts when the lock still has enough energy for several openings. If the battery runs out completely and you do not have the key, there is a micro USB port on the outside of the lock where you can connect a power bank to power the lock, enter the code, and open the door to subsequently replace the batteries from the inside.
