Shelly i4DC transmits these physical button presses into the Shelly system, where you can configure them freely. For instance, using different press combinations (single click, double click, long press), you can control lighting or execute complex scenes. Naturally, these inputs can also be used to send HTTP, MQTT, or CoAP commands to third-party devices.

Wiring and Use Cases
The Shelly i4DC is the direct successor to the Shelly i3. It upgrades the experience with Bluetooth, a faster processor, and a fourth input channel. With 4 switch inputs, it is perfectly suited to be wired behind a 4-button wall switch.
By connecting push buttons to the Shelly Plus i4DC, you can control 4 independent actions. Since the device doesn't have internal relays and doesn't cut power to the output, your smart bulbs remain continuously powered. This ensures they are always accessible via the app or motion sensors, while still giving you the convenience of a physical wall switch.
The possibilities don't end with lighting. The Shelly ecosystem can manage heating, garage doors, and blinds. You can easily configure one button on the i4DC to activate an entire "Good Night" routine.
