Shelly Camera White (model S1CM-0DXW00) is a compact indoor IP security camera that combines a sharp Full HD picture, night vision and smart motion detection with the openness Shelly is known for. Place it on a shelf, attach it magnetically to a wall or ceiling, and within minutes you can watch your home, nursery or office right on your phone.

Unlike typical budget cameras, you are not locked into a single app. Besides Shelly Smart Control, you can connect it to Home Assistant, Frigate NVR, Alexa, Google Home or SmartThings, and via RTSP to your own NVR recorder.

The camera records in 1920 × 1080 px with a wide 110° horizontal and 70° vertical field of view, so a single camera covers most of a typical living room or hallway. In the dark it automatically switches to black-and-white night vision, letting you make out faces and movement even in a completely dark room.

The biggest difference from an ordinary camera is how it handles alerts. Motion detection is based on image analysis and you can set up to 10 motion zones, for example just the front door or a window. Cloud-based AI object recognition also tells a person, a pet or a car apart, so your phone does not buzz every time a curtain moves. Each notification comes with a preview image so you can decide right away whether to act.

Advanced users will appreciate that it is a smart camera with local control: it has its own web interface, supports scripts, MQTT, WebSocket and webhooks, and offers a lightweight low-resolution stream for your own AI models. You can train recognition of familiar faces on your own hardware without the cloud.

Privacy matters here. With blackout zones you hide parts of the image the camera should not see, and a single press of the side button turns on Privacy Mode, which disables video, microphone and speaker. The rear switch powers the camera off completely, with no streaming or network activity. Recordings are stored locally on a microSD card up to 512 GB (not included), in the encrypted EU-based Shelly cloud, or in both places at once.

The built-in microphone and speaker enable two-way communication: talk to your dog, calm your child or answer a courier at the garage entrance. The camera connects via dual-band Wi-Fi 2.4 and 5 GHz and Bluetooth makes the initial setup easy.
