Shelly 1 Mini GEN4 is the latest, fourth-generation 1-channel smart relay by Shelly. Like its predecessor, it supports current switching up to 8 A and allows dry contact switching, as the controlled circuit remains electrically independent from the relay's own power supply. This model does not include a power metering feature.

Like all Shelly devices, the Shelly 1 Mini GEN4 can connect directly to your Wi-Fi router – without the need for a hub, gateway, or local bridge – and comes with native support for the Matter standard.

Shelly GEN4 devices also offer an alternative operating mode that needs to be selected prior to pairing. In this mode, the device can communicate via the Zigbee protocol and can be paired with a Zigbee gateway or coordinator.

Whether the Shelly 1 Mini GEN4 is used in Wi-Fi or Zigbee mode, it is ideal for automating lighting or any electrical appliance and can be part of a comprehensive smart home system – which is perfect for home renovations. It is one of the most compact devices with Wi-Fi/Zigbee support for smart switching on the market. It is small enough to fit behind standard wall switches or in mounting boxes, even when retrofitting into existing wiring. Once installed behind your existing wall switch, you can control your lighting or other connected appliances remotely while continuing to use physical switches. This makes it perfect for upgrading existing systems to make them smart. It works with single-pole switches and, due to its 8A current limit, it is not recommended for controlling electrical outlets. The relay includes a switch input, allowing you to keep using your physical wall switch while also controlling the light or appliance via Wi-Fi.

You can also set automatic power on and off timers. The application allows you to completely deactivate the wall switch function, which is useful in children's rooms, for example. Shelly 1 Mini GEN4 is compatible with classic rocker and push-button (momentary) switches, and also supports multi-way (staircase) wiring. The auto-off function allows it to operate even in momentary switching mode.

Dry Contact Switching – Like the previous generation, the Shelly 1 Mini GEN4 supports dry contact switching. It can switch up to 8 A at 240 V AC or 5 A at 30 V DC, making it suitable for applications requiring a dry contact, such as garage doors, gate drives, or irrigation systems. It can also switch 12 V or 24 V DC/AC circuits.

⚠️ Important: The device requires both a live (L) and a neutral (N) wire to operate. The switched live from the wall switch must be on the same phase as the input live – this product is not suitable for multi-phase installations.
