The Elko VS116B/230 is a compact auxiliary power relay featuring a single changeover contact rated for up to 16A (AC1). These specifications make it the perfect solution for scenarios where standard Z-Wave or Wi-Fi smart relays lack the necessary switching capacity—such as when controlling heavy-duty electrical outlets, large motors, or HVAC ventilation systems.

The Solution for "Sticky" Contacts on LED Transformers

This auxiliary relay is an elegant fix for the common problem of relay contacts getting stuck or welded together (a frequent issue with FIBARO and other smart modules) when switching powerful LED drivers. High-inrush currents (peaks) generated when LED drivers are switched on can magnetize and weld the micro-contacts of standard smart relays. By wiring this power relay to the output of your smart module, you transfer the entire heavy load to the robust 16A contact of the ELKO relay, effectively eliminating the sticking issue.

Note: This auxiliary relay requires a permanent live phase (L) and a neutral wire (N) to operate. It must be installed in a location where both wires are present.
