🚶‍♂️ Sonoff SNZB-03P - Zigbee Motion and Light Intensity Sensor

The SNZB-03P is a Zigbee motion sensor from Sonoff, featuring a longer battery life of up to 3 years and a redesigned look compared to its predecessor. The sensor also comes with a magnetic wall mount, which is a new addition compared to its predecessor, where it had to be purchased as a separate product. The SNZB-03P is a small smart home motion sensor utilizing the Zigbee 3.0 protocol, sending signals through a Zigbee gateway to control other devices. Its small size allows for discreet placement on a wall or ceiling.

It communicates, for example, via the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro, iHost, or NS Panel Pro with the eWeLink cloud and can be used to control other Sonoff or SmartWise WiFi and eWeLink devices.

Another new feature is that when paired with a Sonoff gateway, you can also set the motion sensor test period. You can set the delay for returning to the rest state between 5-60 seconds. For instance, your lights could turn off just 5 seconds after the last detected movement.
This allows us to set a very quick response or a longer delay based on our automation goals.

What is Zigbee?

Most Sonoff products use Wi-Fi and RF as communication channels, which enable more affordable products than other smart home technologies, but they are not specific IoT standards.

In contrast, Zigbee is specifically designed as the ideal communication solution for low-power devices, where there is no large data transfer, but where the lowest possible time latency is critical. Zigbee is a great choice, for example, for battery-powered sensors or remote controls, where Zigbee offers multiple times the operating life compared to WiFi. Zigbee sensors cannot be used independently; they require a Zigbee gateway to connect to your home/office network. One example is the Sonoff Zigbee Bridge Pro.

Due to the nature of Zigbee technology, pairing with individual Zigbee devices is a breeze, much faster than pairing with WiFi.
