Solid-State 7-in-1 Sensor Array

Unlike traditional, bulky weather stations, the Ecowitt WS90 features absolutely zero moving parts. There are no spinning wind cups or tipping-bucket rain gauges that can freeze over in the winter or get jammed by dust and spider webs. This device relies on pure solid-state technology. It features:

• Ultrasonic Anemometer: Measures wind speed and direction with extreme accuracy using sound waves.
• Piezoelectric Haptic Rain Sensor: Detects rain intensity by analyzing the physical impact of droplets striking its surface.
• Temperature and Humidity Sensors: Operates in extreme conditions ranging from -40 °C to +60 °C.
• Light Sensors: Measures UV index, solar radiation, and overall illumination (Lux).
• Barometric Pressure.

Powered by the Sun

Operation is predominantly handled by a massive built-in solar panel. This panel continuously charges an internal supercapacitor, which powers the unit day and night. To ensure flawless operation during long, gloomy winter months, the unit utilizes 2 standard AA batteries hidden within its weatherproof body as a reliable backup.

Note: To bridge this sensor into the Shelly ecosystem, you must use a gateway—either the standalone Shelly BLU Gateway or any modern Shelly Plus, Pro, or Gen3 relay that features Bluetooth bridging capabilities.
