OTA

(Over-The-Air) Updates

OTA, or Over-The-Air, is a feature that allows you to wirelessly update the firmware (internal software) of your smart devices directly over the network. Thanks to this technology, you do not need to remove devices from the wall or connect them to a computer with a cable.

Manufacturers continuously improve their products even after they are sold. Through OTA updates, they can remotely fix software bugs, improve connection stability, enhance security protocols, or even add completely new features. A notification about an available update will simply appear in your smart home app, and you can install it with a single click.

While permanently powered devices can update in the background, battery-powered sensors (such as door contacts) often need to be manually "woken up" by pressing a physical button before starting an OTA update so they can receive the new software.
